Carentan is the American Sector of the Beaches. From Carentan you can travel the 15 km to Utah Beach, via Saint Côme du Mont and visit the Dead Man's Corner Museum, then via Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, then go up to the Batterie (Battery) de Crisbecq and Azeville , near Saint-Marcouf above Ravenoville and return via Sainte-Mère-Eglise where you can visit the “Airbone” and “C47” museums. Or else, you can head for the Pointe du Hoc via Isigny-sur-Mer and Grandcamp-Maisy. Then visit the cemetery at Colleville-Saint-Laurent near Omaha Beach. You will then pass the German cemetery at La Cambe. A more comprehensive leaflet is available at the Tourist office. |
